| Fly fishing for sea trout in the Baltic
Sea is a real challenge. This in many respects. First of all, the Sea is so big and the
fly so small. This makes it sometimes difficult to find the fish. Is it also huge, wild
and real shy Sea trout like here in Kalmarsund close to Påskallavik, the fly fishing will
offer real excitement mixed with the most beautiful scenery. Just imagine to drift over
the most delicious Sea trout areas in clear water and carefully place cast after cast in
company with both Sea eagles and different other Sea birds… This way of fishing is done from boat close to the
shore. In this area this type of fishing has long traditions. The fishing Pelle Klippinge
offers is done in the traditional Scottish or Irish way – "loch-style",
with short casts over likely spots. This is a perfect method well suited for the Sea trout
here. A quiet way of fishing until you feel the take!
Some areas are also fished by wading from
small islands or direct from the shore. Sometimes in almost streamy water, mostly
depending on the actual weather and wind situation.

Klippinge who have fished in these waters for more than 25 years. Pelle has, when it comes
to flyfishing at Sea, also long experience from other different Scandinavian coasts.
The heaviest Sea trout caught on fly by a
guest during 2001 weighed over 7 kilos (16 lb) (Steinar Christensen from Oslo, Norway).
Pelles heaviest on fly during that season was 89 cm long with an estimated weight of 8,5
kilos (19,5 lb)! Both these fish was caught on a tiny # 6 fly.
The drift fishing trips starts approx. in
October and ends in May.

Every drift is about 8
hours long. Overnight stays can be arranged.
Booking is valid first when the deposit
fee are paid.
Final reservation (the rest amount) is
binding and should be paid 1 month before the trip. Reservation can be made by phone, fax,
e-mail or by writing a letter.
