One of river Storån tributaries. Originates from lake Grövelsjön near the Norwegian border just Northwest of Idre village. Is one of many fishing waters in  Särna-Idre FVO. In the river there are brown trout and grayling and at the outflow from lake Grövelsjön the fishing for char can be good especially  late evenings when the wind is calm. One fishing permit gives you the permission to fish in the whole river, this permit also allow you to fish in a lot of other waters. The fishing for perch and pike can be good in many of lakes and tarns in the area.

Suggestions on good fishing spots in river Grövlan:
Upstream and downstream of the bridge at Sävashån. Turn west in Sågliden toward Nybo. See mark 8. on
area map.

Driving from the south on the road to lake Grövelsjön, turn off from the road just past the road bridge, where the road cross the river before Floåsen. A small road runs along the river. At three places the river runs close to the road. There are some fine stretches at these locations. See mark 7. on area map.

At the outflow from lake Grövelsjöns, fine evening fishing for char. On calm evenings the char comes close to the shore to feed on caddis, mayflies and other insects

The area from Grövelhån and 2,5 - 3 km downstream is a excellent stretch. Its a bit far from the road but it can be worth the effort to walk up here. See mark 6. on area map.

Fishing permits can be bought in Idre tourist bureau and in many of the accomod/lodging possib.  in the region.
