Tributary to river Österdalälven. Brown trout and grayling, (only brown trout in the nothern parts). Originates from the lake Hävlingen. In the northern parts of the river, upstream lake Hävlingen near the Töfsingdalens National Park are the famous pools (håarna), (marked 5 on the area map) located. It was here famous flyfisher Nils Färnström fished with Frank Sawyer and the famous fly SS-nymph was created. The fishing in upper area of the river is restricted to flyfishing only, and at some stretches the number of available permits are few. Fishing in the other parts of the river are available by the regular Särna Idre FVO fishing permit which can be bought in many different places in the region. The river Storån is one of many fishing waters in the Särna Idre FVO, the stretches near Töfsingdalens National Park excluded.
The fishing permit for some of the northern stretches (quated waters) nearby Töfsingdalens National Park can be ordered by contacting the County Administrative Board.   http://www.w.lst.se/
