River in Dalarna. Originates from the area surrounding mountain Fulufjället in the north of Dalarna just south of Särna village. Flows through the villages of Sälen, Lima, Malung and Vansbro. Just south of lake Siljan the river converges with river Österdalälven and form the river Dalälven.

Stretch between Lima - Malung - Floda

The weeks before and after midsummer are usually the best fishing period, can varies depending on when the spring flood is over. September and October can offer a fine fishing for grayling.

A nice stream stretch is the long stretch from Lima down to Malungsfors. Easy accessible from both sides.
The stretch Yttermalung down to Äppelbo border is calmer with long calm, slow floating beats interrupted with  rapid streams here and there
The fishing for grayling in Vansbo is well known among  fishermen. Here are a lot of rapid streams, like the Hummelforsen and the Eldforsen.
In the area near the village of Nås nice rapid beats can be found, like Lissforsen, Kvillforsen, Skansforsen, Ol Ersforsen and Utanhedsforsen, all located around the islands of Lisselön and Storön.
Floda-Björbo a 15 km long stretch with 5 rapid streams. Here are many big trout caught every year, but also the fishing for grayling is good especially in the fall, then they can be found in the deep and calmer beats
